Oregon Solar News

Welcome to Erica and Max!

OSEIA has always been a busy place and it’s becoming even busier. Two solar champions have joined the OSEIA crew to help out on some important projects.

Max Muller has signed on as OSEIA political liaison to help the start-up process of Oregon SolarPAC, OSEIA’s new political arm. He will be helping with fundraising for the PAC and will also be organizing meetings this fall with donors and legislative candidates when SolarPAC starts to give contributions.

Max has a long history of involvement in organizing for public interest issues. He served as a legislative aide in the Oregon legislature, worked running campaigns and lobbying the Illinois General Assembly and, since returning to Oregon in 2014, lobbied for the Citizens’ Utility Board of Oregon and even helped OSEIA in the 2016 short session.

Max’s e-mail signature says he’s working to “amp up OSEIA’s political voice.” Help him do that by going here to donate to Oregon SolarPAC (and read the article in this update for more information).

Erica Nist-Lund has joined OSEIA for a pilot project to test a service for OSEIA member businesses. As new executive director Jeff Bissonnette began making the rounds to meet with members, several expressed a need for help in having contracts reviewed at an affordable rate. In response, OSEIA has developed a pilot project to review and create contracts for a small number of participating businesses between June 1 and September 30.

Erica is a 2016 graduate of Lewis and Clark Law School and is spending the summer studying for the Oregon bar exam. Prior to coming to OSEIA, she served as a legal extern for the Citizens’ Utility Board and was involved in Lewis and Clark’s Public Interest Law Project.

Erica is being backed up by energy attorney Irion Sanger of Sanger Law LLC. There is room for one or two more businesses in the contract review pilot program. If you are an OSEIA member and would like more information, please contact Jeff Bissonnette at jeff@oseia.org.

Please join us in welcoming Max and Erica to our team!
